quick-step 25 year warranty

B&Q customers will benefit from a manufacturer's 25 year warranty on new domestic installations. For commercial properties you have a 5 year warranty. The warranty will cover any defects in the product and any defects which occur once the installation has been completed according to their warranty installation procedures which includes using the correct installation kit.

simple to clean

Cleaning your new Quick-Step laminate floor must be done correctly in order to maintain your warranty. As it's a laminate floor, it's incredibly simple, quick and easy to keep tip top. Micro fibre cloths and mops can be used for an incredibly quick clean with a quick fly-over every week. Should any spillages or dirt from pets/children occur, your floor won't be permanently stained as with a carpet.

anti-static properties

Other laminate floors may charge up static when walking across or with slippers on. The good thing about quick-step laminate is that the manufacturer treats all product with antistatic procedures to ensure you get minimal shocks when walking on your laminate floor.

better scratch protection

Quick-Step's own 'scratch guard' technology means your floor wear layer can be up to ten times more scratch resistant than competitor products. This makes a quick-step floor suitable for kids playing with toys, cars and pets as it's better protected than alternative floors.

High Density Fibreboard Base

Constructed with a sturdy HDF (high density fibreboard) the base of the Quick-Step Calando Old Oak Effect is very sturdy. HDF bases are constructed with several more layers of materials compared to the more popular MDF base. HDF laminates are considerably more sturdy and considered much better quality for a longer lasting more durable floor in your home.

hygienic flooring product

From a hygiene perspective, Quick-Step products are very clean, easy to clean and kept very hygienic. With a solid HDF master core and patented connection system called Uniclic, planks are very closely connected giving minimal chance of germs and bacteria settling down in-between the joins of the laminate planks. For people with dust allergies, asthma or breathing issues this kind of flooring may be more suitable than a traditional carpet which may collect germs, dust or other bacteria. Regular cleaning with microfibre products and antibacterial cleaners will ensure your Quick-Step floor is kept in tip-top condition and very hygienic.

Lifetime Uniclic Warranty

Not only is a quick-step easy to connect, their Uniclic plank connection method comes with a lifetime warranty to protect against manufacturer defects before, during or after installation. There are two ways to connect planks together. You can simply place one board at a 30 degree angle to the adjoining plank and slowly lower it to horizontal. Once connected, the product will make a 'click' sound and you know the product is correctly fastened. The second option is to use a 'tapping' procedure and knock the planks together (with the correct equipment) and like option A, will click when connected.

domestic splash warranty

To give customers peace of mind in water-exposed areas, customers of B&Q / Quick-Step are offered a domestic 'Splash Warranty' against failings of the product exposed to splashes. The definition of a splash according to quickstep may be different than other manufacturers, so it's important to read the instructions carefully when installing and maintaining the product. Any spillages on your Quick-Step floor should be cleaned up immediately to protect and keep the floor free from water spots/damage.
